The big activity for the day- pumpkin carving. As any self-respecting perfectionist would do, I hopped on the
internet prior to partaking in my carving activities. I decided on a haunted house that I could draw and started researching how to keep my pumpkin in tip-top shape for the entire week (i.e., not mold or dry out and rot like last year). The best and cheapest advice was to coat the inside with petroleum jelly to keep it from drying out. I diligently carved and painted my pumpkin then proceeded to coat the inside while Ty cooked the pumpkin seeds.
Well, have you ever put petroleum jelly all over your hands? Yeah, not such a great idea. I guess you now know the rest of the story. Let's just say that I have a nice sheen to my hands and Ty is still chasing me around trying to spray car
degreaser on me. Next year, I'll use gloves.
I hope that you enjoy my fabulous haunted house pumpkin this year. Notice my bats, ghosts, witch, pumpkin, and cat. Yeah, I'm an artist. Happy Halloween and "boo!"

It is a FABULOUS pumpkin. I should have come over and let you carve mine too. But the petroleum jelly story made me laugh. :)
